Blue Cat got to take another business trip to Virginia last week. It was all pretty exciting- his first time through security since they remodeled the checkpoint at the airport. There wasn’t much of a line, but the TSA officer joked that Blue Cat’s scribe was smiling too much. Everyone was in a really good mood, which was unexpected since it was 5am on a Monday morning. Blue Cat thinks that smiling really helps.
Flying is amazing! Blue Cat was going around 500 miles per hour, while having his favorite beverage (water) and enjoying a view of the tops of the clouds. Here he is in seat 7A:
Did you know that a Canadair CR700 weighs between 60,000 and 70,000 pounds when it takes off and cruises at 515 mph? It can go about 1,600 miles without refueling too. Blue Cat thinks it’s incredible that something that large can go that fast and fly at the same time. Even though his scribe has a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, even he is impressed wehn something so big takes off. It does take direct application of the Bernoulli Effect, but we won’t go into that as it’s too much math for Blue Cat. The great thing is that the trip from Colorado to Virginia only took 2 hours and 47 minutes. It would have taken Blue Cat days to drive that distance, even if he could drive.
The flight attendant on the United flight was also very nice. She brought Blue Cat lots of water, and made sure that he didn’t need anything else. Blue Cat heard that once upon a time flight attendants gave passengers peanuts along with the drinks, but he didn’t see anything like that on his trip. He could have bought a snack if he wanted to, but he was already stuffed.
Blue Cat will have more to say about his trip, but for now he’d like to hear about the amazing ways you travel to far-off places. Leave him a comment and let him know!
And Blue Cat says hello to his latest follower, Ms Charlotte Hoather, who’s a student at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a soprano as well. He thinks you should visit her cool web site at charlottehoatherblog.com.
